The Seasons changed quickly here from Autumn to Winter. Last weekend we were playing in the leaves which was so much fun! It reminded me of my childhood. I grew up in Texas and I remember helping with the leaves in the yard and playing in them. AND now this weekend there is snow on the ground. I am not sure I like it yet, but the little butterfly is thrilled with it. She goes in the backyard and plays in it while I am telling her to be sure to stay warm. I am not used to this cold and we had to bundle up a lot!
Although the little butterfly is loving the seasons, she talks about her friends in Florida that she misses a bunch. When I picked her up from school yesterday, she spent all the time it took to run our errands talking about her favorite friends in Florida and wondered what they were up to. She said she thought that they were probably at the beach! I decided we she go somewhere and talk and have a treat. I got a cup of coffee and she got an apple juice and we both got a Pumpkin Bread and we sat at a little table at a local coffee shop. We talked for an hour or so about our friends. I encouraged her to talk about it and let her tell me what and who she missed. I am missing Florida too. I am missing our friends a lot these last few days. And I miss the beautiful sunsets there. Yesterday I spent a little time writing a couple of friends from there. And when I realized that she was missing it too, I suggested we make a list of our favorite friends from there. We made a long list of all of our favorite friends from there so that we can be sure to write them all very soon. She made her list and I made mine and many of them were the same. So that is what we plan to do this wintery weekend…we plan to make handmade cards and write our favorite friends in Florida. What are your plans?
